6 THINGS TO DO IN: Los Angeles

things to do in los angeles

Since Los Angeles is such a big city, there's plenty to do. You want to chill out at the beach for a while? Feel like going on a hike? Want to visit a museum? Or do some shopping? You can do it all in Los Angeles. Still not sure what you want to do while you're in the city of angels? Maybe this list will give you some inspiration.

- Hike to the Hollywood Sign
There are a few hiking trails that lead to the Hollywood Sign. I guess if you actually go the the letters, you'll have a beautiful view, if it's not to foggy. But if you just want a good picture with the sign in the back, I recommend not going all the way behind the letters and look for good photo spot. There are multiple, so you can do some research and decide which one you want to go to.

- Rent a bike at the beach
Of course, you can just go to the beach a enjoy the weather, enjoy the sun and relax. But if you feel like doing something active, rent a bike! I rented a bike at Venice Beach, at Jay's Rentals. 20 Dollars for the whole day. You can bike to Santa Monica, Marina del Rey, wherever you want. It's very fun to do, and if you get tired, lock your bike and sit down somewhere, walk around, get something to drink etc. Make sure to check out the canals in Venice.

- Visit Universal Studios
Universal Studios isn't just a place where little kids want to go, it's a place for everyone. Although there aren't many scary rollercoasters, it's still a lot of fun. Most attractions are 3D rides. They also opened Harry Potter world which is pretty cool. There's a lot to do, like shows and there's a studio tour as well.

- Go to a TV Show taping
In Los Angeles, they tape a lot of tv shows. And of course, the shows need an audience. There's this website, called 1iota where you can sign up for tickets to a show, for free! Make sure you sign up in advance to have the best chance to get the tickets. Sometimes you'll be placed on a waitlist, but that doesn't mean you'll get the tickets.

- Watch the sunset from the Griffith Observatory
If you want to do another hike, hike to the Griffith Observatory to see the sunset. But you can also just take an Uber. (Click here for a free ride coupon). The view from up there is incredible. You can also go there during daytime, but I recommend going there to watch the sunset. They (sometimes) also have some telescopes too see the moon and planets from up close, which is quite cool.

- Go to Down Town LA
A lot of people might not go to DTLA during their stay in LA, but there are definitely some fun things to do there. If you like art, go to The Broad museum. Into books and cool looking stores? Make sure you visit The Last Bookstore. There also is a neighborhood called Little Tokyo which is fun to visit as well.

There's is a lot more to do in LA, for sure. But these 5 activities were my personal favorites. Other things that you could do as well are going to Mel's Diner (my favorite diner), visit Beverly Hills, go to the walk of fame, visit  a museum, etc. People told me LA is a city you visit once. But for me it's different, I definitely want to go back someday.

Have you ever visited Los Angeles? Or do you want to someday?

  1. This is a gorgeous place, and I won't soon forget it. Attended an event here sponsored by the company. The reception hour was held in one of the rooms next to the hall of NYC venues. I loved their buttery mashed sweet potato.
